Cy Ranch to take on Pflugerville
Cypress Ranch (31-6) will play Pflugerville (31-7) in the Class 6A state semifinals Friday night at the Alamodome.

CYPRESS (KTRK) -- The Cypress Ranch Mustangs are enjoying the ride of their lives this season.

For seniors Didi Richards and Ariana Whitfield, it's been a four year varsity journey to their first state tournament.

"I've been waiting for this for four years this is as close as we've got," adds Whitfield.

Head Coach Tresa Martin-Hornsby started the Mustangs program back in 2008.

"We finally get the opportunity not going to let it waste," says Richards.

Each year the Mustangs are building on their success.

The Mustangs (31-6) will play in their first state semi-final against Pflugerville (31-7) in the Class 6A state semifinals Friday night at the Alamodome.

Coach Hornsby says she'll have the team ready, "I don't have to tell them much. They've been gaining confidence and can do anything if they work hard."

It's all been building up to this weekend and the mustangs are ready to bring home the state title.
