HOUSTON (KTRK) -- After playing in three of the last four games for the Texans, No. 1 pick Jadeveon Clowney has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Tennessee at NRG Stadium.

According to HoustonTexans.com, Clowney's surgically repaired knee is giving him problems again, forcing him to sit out of practice all week.

Clowney suffered a torn meniscus in the opener against Washington. Surgery to repair it kept him out of the lineup for six weeks before he was able to make his return.

"A lot of pain right now, just been bothering me off and on the whole season," Clowney said. "Something I've got to push through, but when the swelling comes up, it's a little setback."

Clowney saw his most significant action of the season against the Bengals on Nov. 23, playing in 49 snaps on defense. He had three tackles and one tackle for loss in the Texans' 22-13 loss.

According to the Texans, Kareem Jackson will also miss the game against the Titans with a knee injury.
