Houston guard Chris Paul left the Rockets' game Wednesday night against theLos Angeles Lakerswith what coach Mike D'Antoni called a strained left adductor.

Paul left early in the fourth quarter of Houston's 122-116 loss and did not return. His status for Friday's home game against the Clippers is uncertain.

D'Antoni said the injury was not related to the bruised left knee that sidelined Paul for a month earlier in the season.

Paul leads the Rockets with an average of 9.3 assists per game. He had 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists against the Lakers.
