ATASCOCITA , TX (KTRK) -- The Atascocita Eagles ready to regroup and refocus for the playoffs.

A 30 and 1 regular season has been fun, but for David Martinez's team it's all about taking it a step further than last season -- a loss to Allen in the region 2 finals their motivation.

Coach Martinez says his kids came into this year wanting it a little more, ready to do the extra work to get back to the region finals and break through.

Senior Paris Marquez says, "It light a fire under us made us work harder to practice some days when we didn't want to, it got us going."

The Eagles aren't the most intimidating team. Their tallest player is just 6' 3", but that all changes when the game starts.

Guard Greg Shead says, "They're shocked a little, we just push it and prove we're the best team, we push down their throats."

Forward Matt Willrodt says "I give credit to point guards I just try to keep up with them."

The Eagles 2nd in the state 6a rankings, they know they'll have a bulls eye on the backs when the playoffs begin. But they say they wouldn't have it any other way.

Paris says, "It's been fun and it's not over just getting started."'
