Astros report for spring training in Florida
As the Astros prepare for season, lots of work underway to get Minute Maid Park ready

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Houston Astros report for their first workout at spring training today in Florida. Their first spring training game is in 10 days against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Opening day at Minute Maid Park is set for Monday night, April 11th. The baseball team is scheduled to take on last year's World Series Champions, the Kansas City Royals.

Inside the Houston ballpark, crews have spent the off season sprucing the place up. Astros president of business operations Reid Ryan abc13 season tickets sales are up following last season's success.

"This off season, we've completed a LED light transition. We'll now have LED lights here at Minute Maid park as well as high speed WiFi," said Ryan. "Houston has always been a great baseball town. People are taking a lot of pride in wearing the H with the star. Folks are seeing the progress and bringing their kids out."
