Tom Koch completes Ice Bucket Challenge, makes donation to ALSA

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- One of my father's best friends in the town where I grew up was diagnosed with ALS and lost the battle after fighting it for years. So the ice bucket challenge had a personal connection to me.

First, I was challenged by my daughter, then by my college buddy at the University of Wisconsin, Peter Hensel. Two of my friends here in Houston then challenged me, as did 17 of our morning viewers.

So I ran last night in the heat, and then went from 98 degrees to ice, ice baby.

I will also be writing a check to the ALS Association now that I'm dry and the mousse is back in the my hair.
