HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. -- It was an unforgettable moment for a student with special needs during Senior Day at a California high school.
Anthony Estrada, wearing No. 22 for the Los Altos High School Conqueror's baseball team, was on third base in a game against the Diamond Ranch Panthers on Thursday.
A wild pitch was thrown that skipped by the catcher, making its way to the backstop.
Anthony sprinted for home with the assistance of his third-base coach following him down the baseline.
With dirt flying and the home crowd cheering him on, Anthony raced across home plate to score a run.
The crowd erupted as Anthony was mobbed by his teammates. Hugs and high-fives were exchanged as Anthony made his way back to the dugout.
"Nothing stops him from being happy and making others around him happy," one student said of Anthony.
