Baytown family surprised with RV after Harvey devastated their home
A Baytown family receives a special surprise from their son and daughter-in-law... An RV to stay in after their home was flooded by Harvey.

BAYTOWN, Texas -- The first time our ABC13 reporters met Dale and Clarence Foster, the family was standing in the back of their Baytown home, waiting for anyone with a boat to come by and rescue them.

"I was just ready to get out. It was scary. When we saw the water, we looked out front and saw how fast the water was coming through," said Dale.

A month later... They're back home, cleaning up, and salvaging what they can.

"We've only been working on it for two weeks, and made a lot of progress," said Clarence.

Clarence, 75, says that the vibe of the neighborhood is rather numbing. "We're all more or less walking around like a bunch of zombies. Something like this happens, it's hard to think."

Right after the storm, they were living with friends for nearly a week, and then at a motel. But then... A surprise pulled into their driveway last weekend.

"Right now we're living in the RV that our son and daughter-in-law brought down Saturday," Dale said.

Sometimes good things come out of tragedy.

"I feel like we've been really blessed through all of it. We came out alive and healthy. These things can be replaced. But it's really strengthened our faith and our friends have rallied around us," said Dale.

And like many who live here in Baytown, there's one goal in mind.

"Trying to get it cleaned up, dried out and repaired and get your life back in order... One day at a time," said the Fosters.
