Principal sleeps on school's roof dressed as Batman

TENNESSEE (KTRK) -- Batman was spotted sleeping on the roof of a Tennessee school, but the caped crusader wasn't an intruder. He was the school's principal making good on a promise.

Principal Jeff McCann told students he would sleep on the school's roof dressed as the Dark Knight if they met a fundraising goal of $50,000. They surpassed that mark and ended up raising more than $57,000.

McCann spent the night on the roof this week. He said he passed the time reading and even got some quality shuteye.

The funds raised will go toward advancing the school's technology resources and classroom instructional supplies.
