Forbes' list of America's most overpriced cities America's most overprice cities looked at factors like housing affordability, median income, and more from the 100 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. and their respective suburbs.

Based on those metrics, Honolulu, Hawaii was ranked to be the most overpriced city in the U.S., with a median family income of $82,600 and only 35.3 percent affordable housing at that median income. Additionally, your typical Honolulu resident pays 55.3 percent more for groceries and 77.8 percent more for utilities compared to average U.S. housing/living costs.

California had 10 different cities make the list, with San Francisco placing highest at No. 6. Other states with major metro areas, like Texas, didn't make the list at all. Check the gallery above to see the 25 most overpriced cities in the U.S.
