HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Many are looking to challenge themselves both mentally and physically, including Houston's Amy Craft.

Lawyer by day, she is an endurance athlete on her free time. She's also out to prove to others that you can do anything you put your mind to doing.

"You've got to have a little bit of grit and you have to kind of enjoy suffering a little bit, which I do," Craft said.

Craft, 40, is no stranger to hard work.

She has trained for marathons, Ironman and other strenuous competitions.

"I started running when I turned 30," she said.

Craft said part of her work now is to inspire young women and girls to work hard, go the distance and don't give up.

"My advice is to absolutely just do it. We could come up with 1,000 excuses to not do it," she added.
