Lowriders surprise children with presents

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- They're tough, tatted up, and not exactly welcome in every neighborhood. But Christmas Day, the Lowrider group "Rollerz Only" helped several Houston families in need.

"You can't judge a book by its cover," said Volunteer Frank Hernandez. "Underneath it, all of us really have good hearts."

The group spent the day in the East End of Houston, passing out toys to needy families.

"They make me see that there are good people out there who really care," said Norma Castaneda, who wasn't going to celebrate Christmas this year. "For them to take their time out on Christmas to come over and make my kids smile is a joy."
