Lottery winner gives gift cards to homeless
A lottery winner is spreading some good cheer, sharing the wealth with some less fortunate

OMAHA, NE -- A lottery winner in Nebraska is using the holiday season to share her wealth with the less fortunate.

2006 jackpot winner Alain Maboussou wrote a $25,000 check to Siena Francis House, a homeless shelter in Omaha. The shelter used the money to buy $40 gift cards for residents. They boarded school buses for a trip to Walmart.

Siena Francis House guest Brooke Vacanti said, "I didn't think I was going to be able to get my son Caden anything for his birthday, so when I found out this morning that I came into this money from Siena Francis I was overjoyed, I can't even explain the feeling, really."

The shelter houses hundreds of people and has been at full capacity this winter, KMTV reports. The residents say the generous gesture gives them something to look forward to this Christmas.
