Jo Furr, Woman of Distinction

She moved to Houston 46 years ago with her husband, Jim, who was her high-school sweetheart. They are celebrating 50 years of marriage in 2017. Jo earned a B.S. from LSU and M.Ed. in Language Arts & Reading from University of Houston.[br /]Jo is affectionately known by many as a "true Southern Belle," having been born in Memphis, lived in Mississippi and Louisiana, and opens her home and heart to so many friends and nonprofits in Houston. Her generosity continues in the professional and arts community as she serves on boards of Houston Ballet, Blaffer Art Museum, Houston Area Parkinson Society, Stages Repertory Theatre, and HSPVA among others.
