The Commemorative Air Force's Gulf Coast Wing is participating in a new online giving campaign this month that supports the organization's mission of restoring and flying vintage military aircraft.

Dec. 1 through Dec. 31, the new campaign provides an opportunity to support the WWII Flying Fortress Texas Raiders along with the rest of the CAF fleet. The iconic bomber Texas Raiders has resided in the Houston area for over forty years, always in rented quarters. Today the Gulf Coast Wing is launching a campaign to secure a permanent hangar for the 70-year old aircraft.

During WWII, the U.S. manufactured 12,731 B-17 bombers, and fewer than a dozen are actively flying today. Texas Raiders occupies an important place in military aviation history as an aircraft, which served the U.S. military at home and abroad.
