DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES -- The Skyslide, a new attraction on the U.S. Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles, will open to thrill seekers on Saturday.

The glass slide takes riders from the 70th floor to the 69th floor where California's highest open-air observation deck called the OUE Skyspace is located.

The slide, which is made of 1-inch thick glass, is 45-feet long and about 1,000 feet above the ground.

The Skyslide and OUE Skyspace were part of a $50 million renovation project to the U.S. Bank Tower, which is currently the tallest building west of the Mississippi River.

Once the Wilshire Grand Tower on S. Figueroa Street is completed, it will become the tallest building west of the Mississippi River.

Admission to the OUE Skyspace observation deck cost $25, with tickets to Skyslide costing an additional $8.

Tickets can be purchased at skyspace-la.com.
