Exotic animal racing coming to Sam Houston Race Park
Camels, ostriches and zebras will compete in 100-yard races at Sam Houston Race Park this weekend.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Calling all camel, ostrich and zebra lovers! Sam Houston Race Park is set to host two nights of fun-filled exotic animal racing this weekend featuring some of your favorite creatures.

Races will be held on Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4. Between the live thoroughbred horse races, four camels, ostriches and zebras will all complete in 100-yard races.

Several celebrity camel trainers are set to appear, including Krystina from The Roula & Ryan Show on KRBE, Phyllis from 94.5 The Buzz, Fred Faour from ESPN Radio and others.

On Friday, gates open at 5:30 p.m., with races beginning at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, gates open at 4:30 p.m., with races beginning at 6:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $7 each and $4 for children ages 4 - 12 and seniors 62 and older. Children under 4 are free.
