Church pianist celebrates 100th birthday, plays 69 years

KNOXVILLE, TN (KTRK) -- Ruth Jane Woodby has just celebrated her 100th birthday.

She still plays piano at her church every Sunday, as she has for the past 69 years.

Despite her age, she has no problem hitting all the right notes.

Woodby said the secret to her longevity is clean living, no smoking and no drinking.

She also talks politics, but her view on this presidential election is very simple.

"The lord created the heavens and everything and knows all about us, and I think it's up to him how this election goes," she said.

Woodby and her late husband had five children.

She currently has eleven great, great grandchildren.
