BEST DRUGSTORE BEAUTY BUYS FOR SPRING
Style and trend expert says focus on your lips, eyes, and skin for spring.

HOUSTON -- This season you can keep up with the latest beauty trends by simply replacing a few key products in your makeup bag.

Style and trend expert Brittney Levine says focus on your lips, eyes, and skin for spring.

Levine says the first thing to do is ditch the heavy cream and pick up a serum instead.

"Serums can be extremely expensive at department stores, almost up to $300," Levine said.

However, Levine found one product at the drugstore that she says works just as well. She recommends Lumene serum from Walgreen's for under $30.

"Lumene's products are really affordable and cost-effective," Levine said.

As the weather warms up, make sure your foundation is sweat and humidity proof. Levine likes Rimmel's 25-Hour Foundation because it has SPF 20 and is under $10.

For your lips, toss the dark, matte winter colors because this spring is very cherry. Burt's Bees, a company famous for its balms has added easy-to-apply spring colors to its line. Their lip crayons are $9 each online and come in six different shades.

For a bold spring look, fiery red lips are also in this season.

Levine says use pretty pastels on your eyes. She suggests going light and picking one color so that you don't need several tools to apply.

"You don't want to go too crazy so you don't look like a clown," Levine said.

For your spring hair do, you don't have to head to the salon.

"This season we're seeing everything from braids, bun, and long voluminous hair. You can do this right in your very own home," Levine said.

There are a variety of hair gadgets that make cute styles simple.

"The best part about it is that we can find many of the spring trends that we've seen on the runway right in our local drugstore," Levine said.
