The Asian Pacific American Heritage Association presented its 24th annual Gala in Houston "Dancing with The APAHA Stars" on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Royal Sonesta Houston Hotel. Houston's Asian-American community celebrates the month of May as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and the diverse heritage of the many cultures represented by the Asian and Pacific Islander regions. On this special night, APAHA recognized and honored those who have made a tremendous contribution to the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in Houston.

Mr. Henry Florsheim, General Manager ABC-13 Houston accepted the award for "Corporate Achievement" on behalf of Team ABC-13. Also, ABC-13 reporter Miya Shay was the emcee for the evening.

The theme of 2016 was Dancing with the APAHA Stars and 4 Houston Celebrities paired with 4 professional dancers to compete live at the Gala, making this evening unforgettable while supporting a good cause. The evening included dinner, a silent auction, and entertainment.

About APAHA: The Asian Pacific American Heritage Association (APAHA) was formed in Houston in 1992 to "promote awareness and increase understanding of the Asian Pacific American culture and its diversity through education and celebration," focusing on the month of May, which is celebrated nationally as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and continuing throughout the year.

As a nonprofit 501( c ) ( 3 ) organization, APAHA's mission is to recognize and promote the accomplishments of Asian Pacific Americans and our heritage through education and celebration.
