Annual Tour de Houston kicks off Sunday

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The 2017 Tour de Houston is officially underway!

The event started at 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The 12th annual ride will begin and end at City Hall.

Mayor Turner told Houstonians that the riders will be heading to Missouri City for the first time in tour history.

"I can't think of a better way for Houstonians to see our scenic city and enjoy the outdoors," said Mayor Turner.

Tour de Houston is part of the Mayor's Wellness Weekend which also includes the 40th Annual Bayou City Classic.
