New ways to save money at Walmart
Walmart offers new ways to save money when shopping online.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Walmart is fighting back against Amazon and other online retailers by offering discounts on thousands of items ordered on Walmart.com. Once you order those items, you then pick them up at your nearest Walmart.

The new discount move was launched April 19.

Toni Parrish is a Walmart shopper and couponer. She said she saves even more money at Walmart using the Savings Catcher feature on the store's app.

Savings Catcher keeps track of lower advertised deals so you can comparison shop. The feature on the app was introduced a few years ago.

If a local Walmart competitor has a lower advertised price, you'll get a Walmart e-gift card for the difference.

That sounds simple, but Toni has learned to take it to another level by double dipping on those savings using the ibotta app. This app helps you earn cash back for shopping.

Something else Toni does is use the Walmart American Express Bluebird card. You'll get double the Savings Catcher reward dollars when you redeem them to your Bluebird card. There are virtually no fees with this card.
