Shoppers get deals without headache
Shoppers grabbed some great deals today, but without the headache of shopping earlier this holiday season

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- For customers buying Christmas presents, fighting the crowds on Black Friday may be worth it, but for those just looking for a deal, shopping today may be a better choice.

Shopper Doyle Hinton said, "Now it's a little more laid back, and people seem to be in a better mood and everything."

Shoppers say they're still finding good deals -- without the headaches.

Kristen Retzloff paid $50 instead of $100 for a pre-lit Christmas tree. She said, "I'm trying to get all my dorm room, apartment stuff all together, and so now I have a Christmas tree for next year."

Other shoppers hope to find good deals, too, at their own pace.

Shopper Stephanie Holmes said, "A good case for my phone -- just anything that we may have missed. Now that the crowd's died down -- that's why we're out."

Store parking lots are still pretty full, though, and traffic may test your patience.

If the malls are still a little much for you the day after Christmas, you don't necessarily have to leave your house.

Online deals are everywhere, from 50 percent off sports stuff on Amazon to Macy's after Christmas one-day sale.
