It's not easy being green, especially if you look like Kermit the Frog.

A newly discovered species of frog called Diane's Bare-hearted Glassfrog (scientific name Hyalinobatrachium dianae) has gone viral for its resemblance to the greenest of the Muppets.

The Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center published a paper describing the new amphibian in February, and the frog went viral after people began to make the connection with Kermit the Frog's protruding eyes and rounded little nose.

So many people saw the resemblance that The View asked Kermit to be a guest on the show to talk about whether they might be related.

The new species is considered different because of its truncated snout, transparent skin and unique whistle, among other traits, according to researchers.

The last time a new glassfrog was spotted was more than four decades ago, ABC News reports.
