NASA's Hubble Telescope captured images of a Butterfly Nebula.

It is an intermediate-mass star that is in its death throes, which accounts for the great clouds of super-heated gas it is expelling into space making a strange, sad light show marking its own end.

The Butterfly Nebula is 3,800 light years from Earth in the Milky Way.
