PEARLAND, TX -- The scene was busy at the Westside Event Center Monday morning as Brazoria County residents came out on the first day of early voting.
One volunteer stated that 87 people had come in to vote and the polls had only been open a little over three hours. "And that's just our location," she added.
After statistics in the last few elections showed a county voter turnout as low as 7 percent, residents are taking charge of who their elected officials are.
