Just as two politically opposite brothers, Brad (D) and Dallas Woodhouse (R) were getting personal in a heated debate about the political divide in the U.S. on C-SPAN's Washington Journal program, their own mother called into the show to scold them on live TV!

Ma Woodhouse only got six words in before younger son Dallas recognized the shrill of his mother's voice, exclaiming "Oh God, it's Mom," in utter mortification.

Burying their faces in their hands, the two brothers stopped to listen to dear mom guilt them for their squabbling:

"I disagree that all families are like ours. I don't know many families that are fighting on Thanksgiving."

"I was very glad that this Thanksgiving was a year that you two were supposed to go to your in-laws," she added. "And I'm hoping you'll have some of this out of your system when you come here for Christmas."

"I would really like a peaceful Christmas, and I love you both."

Host Steven Scully made a point to say that the call was not planned, but continued to ask Ma Woodhouse more questions, much to the annoyance of the brothers. In the end, the brothers thanked their mom, promising to see her next week for Christmas.

Brad Woodhouse is president of the national liberal group Americans United for Change, while his younger brother, Dallas Woodhouse, is president of North Carolina conservative group Carolina Rising.

The two political opposing brothers are the subject of the bipartisan documentary, Woodhouse Divided, which they were promoting earlier on the Washington Journal program.
