HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A dog with ties to some special members of the ABC-13 family is now in need of a good home.

Marvin Zindler, who died seven years ago this week, was the long-time Action 13 investigative reporter and champion of the poor and those in need of help. But Marvin didn't do it all on his own. The rest of the Action 13 team was made up of producer Lori Reingold and photographer Bob Dows. All three were animal rights supporters and pet lovers.

Bob passed away at the end of last year, leaving his own beloved pet Jack Russell terrier without a home. JR is about nine years old, neutered, healthy and current on shots. He is staying in the Pecan Grove Kennel, but would love a forever, loving home.

JR has been well taken care of. He loves attention and likes to sit with you and have his stomach rubbed, or just sit at your feet. JR is OK with other dogs and older children. He needs an enclosed yard or secure place to run. He's a typical Jack Russell and not good with kids. He needs to go home with adults.

If you are interested in adopting this member of the extended ABC-13 family, you can contact Lori Reingold at lreingold@comcast.net.
