HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We have an update on a horse that disappeared during a trail ride into Houston's Memorial Park.
This morning that horse is safe and getting ready for the rodeo parade.
Susan Beltran, the horse's owner, said, "Just glad that we got her back, that we got her back."
In Missouri City, Beltran was a little emotional when she was finally reunited with her black mare, Shay.
Shay came to town for the rodeo, but she vanished Friday morning from the lot where the mission trail riders kept their horses.
Officers in Missouri City found the horse in a backyard late last night and reunited Shay with her owner.
Beltran said, "We have her back because she means a lot to my granddaughter and to myself because my husband loved riding and this was his horse."
Shay belonged to the founder of the Dayton Outlaws Riders, Gambino Beltran, Jr. He died 27 days ago, but his family continued with the ride in his honor.
You can see Shay and the Mission Trail Riders later today during the Rodeo Parade.
