Humans and their pets may be buried together at new cemetery

For many of us, pets are a part of our family.

An Oklahoma cemetery recognizes that there's a lot of people who feel that way. Peaceful Paws Companion Garden in Tulsa is offering something new. It's making it possible for people and their pets to be buried together.

Starting January 1st, families will be able to share their grave sites at Peaceful Paws Companion Garden.

Jerry Dillon of Dillon Smith Funeral Service says he expects this new idea to be very popular. ""so what we're wanting to do is listen to the needs of families are in the

time of loss and grieving, how can we make that as meaningful as possible--celebrate the life of their pets,"

You can have your pet cremated, or prepared just like a human body. You can even have a funeral service for your pet, with an open casket viewing.

Human spaces at "Peaceful Paws" start at around two thousand dollars. The additional plots for your pets are a little cheaper, simply because pets take up less space.
