HOUSTON (KTRK) -- With a bullet still firmly lodged in her forehead, she told Eyewitness News how she played dead to save herself after her husband shot her.
She said her husband, who she had been married to for 12 years, got out of jail at midnight on Saturday.
Then, on Monday, she said he started drinking. Fed up over what she described as a life-long addition to alcohol, she told him to move out of their home in the 20000 block of Fullerton.
That's when she said he grabbed their gun and shot her in the head.
She said she stayed down on the floor and tried not to move as he walked outside.
Then, she heard him arguing with her 30-year-old.
She says she jumped up to save her son. Her husband still fired off one bullet, which grazed her son's head. Then, she says, she watched as he shot and killed himself.
When Eyewitness News asked her if she still loved her husband, she said, "Of course. I was his doll. But not when he was drinking."
She and her son are both out of the hospital and expected to recover.
