HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman walked into Houston Fire Department Station 69 at the Sam Houston Tollway at Briar Forest and stole the supervisor's vehicle.

Police say around 1:30am this morning, the woman jumped into an HFD supervisor's suburban parked at the station and left. The keys were already in the ignition.

Dispatchers were able to track the suburban because a GPS tracking device was inside. Police caught up to her, and the woman then turned on both the lights and sirens and kept driving up and down the Sam Houston Tollway and the North Freeway.

Precinct 5 Deputy Constables eventually threw down some spike strips along the feeder road of the Sam Houston Tollway between Clay and Hammerly. The woman ran over the spikes and flattened two tires on the suburban.

She kept going onto Kempwood until she got to Gessner and then pulled into the HEB parking lot where she surrendered and was arrested.

The woman is being charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
