CLEAR LAKE, TX (KTRK) -- A 68-year-old woman was pulled from her partially submerged car in Clear Lake last night by Pasadena firefighters. We have learned she has died.

Firefighters received a call about a car that had driven off a boat ramp at Clear Lake around 10pm. The black Honda Civic was submerged underwater with only the trunk and back window visible in the 5100 block of NASA Parkway.

The firefighter jumped in the water broke the back window. He initially recovered a small dog that had died, but a Pasadena emergency vehicle used a winch to pull the vehicle out of the water enough to make contact with the unresponsive woman.

She was taken to Houston Methodist St. John's Hospital, but later died.

A Pasadena fireman cut his right hand and forearm on broken glass, but is expected to be OK.

The cause of the incident is under investigation. Foul play is not suspected, according to police.
