SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- A woman was shot and killed during an argument with her male neighbor in Spring, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.

Authorities responded to the home in the 3400 block of Mourning Drive around 1:10pm Tuesday.

"After the altercation took place, one of the neighbors heard the gunshot, came outside and produced another firearm," Cpt. Ronnie Glaze said. "He held the suspect at bay until law enforcement arrived."

The victim has been identified as Ana Weed. Deputies say Weed was shot in the chest. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

A neighbor recorded the tense moments after the shooting from inside her home. The video shows two other neighbors flagging down first responders and within seconds you see deputies arresting the suspect, Hector Arturo Campos, in his driveway without a fight.

Kenyatta Guillory described the dramatic moment when the Weed's mom arrived to the scene.

"When she saw her daughter laying on the ground, she said 'Oh my God that's my daughter,'" Guillory said. "She looked at her and she said 'please don't let her die. Oh my God that's all I got.'"

Another neighbor who witnessed the shooting was able to catch Campos and detain him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

The suspect's attorney released a statement to ABC13:

"My client understands this is a tragic situation. He is anxious to tell his side of the story and for all the facts to be reveled before the public rushes to judgment. Once all of the details of this incident are presented we are confident he will be exonerated of any wrongdoing. There have been many misstatements about my client today and we ask for patience as he works through the legal process."

Campos has been charged with murder.
