Siblings rescued from overturned shrimp boat
A father is missing after a boating accident near the Fred Hartman bridge

BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- Two siblings have been rescued from an overturned shrimp boat, but their father remains missing.

A shrimp boat capsized just after 3pm near Thompson's Bait Camp off of Tri-City Beach Road, near the Fred Hartman bridge. The boat was not sinking, but became mired in mud, under just 13 feet of water. A paramedic who happened to be fishing nearby on his day off called for help for the boaters.

The Baytown police dive team and Baytown Fire Department spent hours trying to reach a 19-year-old woman trapped inside the overturned boat, in fuel-laced water. She was freed just before 6pm. Her younger brother and a deck hand were rescued from on top of the boat hours earlier. The teens' father remains missing.
