Woman shot in the head in SW Houston
A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was shot to death

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman is shot to death in the parking lot of a southwest side condo complex and now police are trying to find who killed her.

It happened on Club Creek Drive in southwest Houston.

Friends of the victim tell police the woman may have been involved in an altercation earlier in the evening.

People who live here say around 3:45 this morning they heard gun shots.

"I heard three loud gun shots and I got up and looked out and I didn't even anything," Geraldine Rogers says.

Rogers went back inside her condo after hearing the gunfire, but later she saw police and realized those shots were closer to her home than she imagined.

"I said, 'Oh it's happened right here when I thought it happened behind me,'" Rogers says.

Police say a woman in her mid twenties was walking through the complex when someone shot at her several times, killing her in a walk way.

"She had at least one gun shot wound to the head and at least one more to the body," says Mark Coleman with HPD.

Friends of the victim told police the woman was in an altercation earlier in the evening, it's something police are now looking into, but so far there are no suspects in custody.

"It just got me nervous now, I didn't know it was this bad over here because everybody said it was quiet over here, people been over here for years," Rogers said.

Police tell us the victim did not live here and was walking along the street earlier in the evening and may have been cutting through the complex when she was gunned down.
