8 suspects in custody after bank robbery near Katy
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Eight robbery suspects are in custody after an hours long search in northwest Houston.
The suspects were wanted for a robbery at the First Community Credit Union in the 23100 block of Cinco Ranch Boulevard. A bank manager was hit in the head during the robbery around 1:30 p.m., according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators said all eight suspects fled, leading deputies in a chase up the Katy Freeway.
For hours, police searched for two suspects at an apartment complex near I-10 and North Post Oak Boulevard.

Six other suspects were taken into custody before the SWAT situation, including two at the bank and four others following the chase.
A man and a woman were released after being detained at the apartment complex. Deputies said they were not part of the original group of suspects, but were detained in connection with the robbery.
At one point, the pool was evacuated as deputies searched for the two people at large.
North Post Oak has now reopened, and residents will be able to get to their homes after deputies urged them to stay away.
Back at First Community Credit Union, motorcyclist and eyewitness David Dixon described being caught in the middle of deputies and the suspects after the violent robbery.

Several robbers, dressed in hoodies, stormed the credit union around 1:30pm, according to investigators. They were in and out of the Cinco Ranch branch in a matter of minutes.
"At first I was like: Did I do something wrong? Because I didn't really know what was happening it happened so fast," Dixon said. He was on his motorcycle nearby, headed to lunch. Before he realized it police descended upon a vehicle right in front of him. "I just got out of Dodge man. I'll ask questions later. I was shaking so bad when I got to lunch I didn't even eat lunch."
Officers and deputies stopped that vehicle and another which raced from the scene. Eyewitnesses said the suburb of Cinco Ranch is normally more quiet.
"I didn't expect it at all. Especially in this area. Doesn't usually happen," said eyewitness Ethan Cook.
Those working nearby think the bank might have been targeted because of its proximity to Highway 99 and a quick possible getaway.
