A Walmart employee was attacked by robbers who stole cash from the retail giant

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Deputies are searching for a couple of suspects who pistol whipped a Spring-area Walmart employee during an attempted robbery.

It happened at a store on Louetta Crossing near the North Freeway.

Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office says two suspects into the store and and grabbed a store employee, robbed and pistol whipped him. Detectives believe the suspects thought that employee was about to make a night deposit, but it was the wrong employee.

The suspects fled out of the store and took off in a gold colored Dodge Caravan.

The pistol-whipped employee was treated by paramedics at the scene and released.

The search for the suspects is ongoing.
