MADRID, Spain (KTRK) -- A man has been detained in Spain after he managed to access an airport tarmac without authorization.
Madrid airport police confirmed to ABC News that the man somehow ended up on the tarmac Friday without having to go through security checkpoints.

Incredible video just into the abc13 newsroom shows the man as he scoots himself off a ramp at the Barajas Airport.
He then speaks to someone inside an airport transportation cart before running across the tarmac.
Although the man had a boarding pass, police say he was detained upon arrival in Gran Canaria.

An airport police spokesperson clarified the following points:
- The man boarded another plane (he didn't make the one he was booked on)
- The man had to pay a fine, and was released
- The man did pass initial security checks, he just jumped the final boarding point
