HOUSTON (KTRK) -- "I'm ready to go to bed and these people are ready to go shopping at night."

C&D Scrap Metal owner, Dennis Laviage says the security alarm sounds frequently these days at his business, and he's tired of it.

Houston Police, Precinct One, and Laviage had to go out to the business twice overnight. The first time was around midnight when someone broke in, and the second was several hours later around 4:30. At midnight, a check of the surveillance video confirmed the crime, and the stolen metal was found at a vacant house nearby.

Sunday night, a thief or thieves escaped with about two thousand dollars in copper.

"The other night on Sunday, they were in here probably 3 hours," said Laviage. "They were working diligently to do it."

Laviage hopes surveillance video will help lead to an arrest.
