Two women shot in parked car in north Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Deputies are trying to figure out who shot two women in a north Harris County parking lot and why.

The victims were hit while sitting in a Dodge Charger in a parking lot on FM 1960 near Imperial Valley. Authorities say a crowd had gathered in the parking lot after several nearby clubs began closing for the night.

Investigators say the victims were taken to area hospitals. Both had non-life threatening injuries.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. The shooter remains on the run.
