BRENHAM, TX (KTRK) -- Washington County authorities recovered two additional bodies from floodwaters on Saturday.

The body of 21-year-old Darren Charles Mitchell, a National Guardsman of Navasota, was found off SH105 and Kuykendall Creek. Later Saturday, responders recovered the body of Pyarali Rajebhi Umatiya, 59, of College Station, from Yegua Creek near FM50.

In total, four people in Washington County died during this week's severe weather and subsequent flooding.

64-year-old Lela Holland was unable to escape her Washington home when it was engulfed by rising water. Jimmy Wayne Schaeffer, 49, of Brenham, died after driving his truck into high water. His body was recovered from Kuykendall Creek near Prairie Hill Road.

"Our prayers go out to the families of these flood victims," State Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst said in a news release. "The floods have been devastating to life and property as I viewed both Burleson and Washington Counties from the DPS aircraft this afternoon.

Throughout the county, 58 roads remain closed and thousands are still without power.
