HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Three people are in custody after reportedly trying to scam a woman in southwest Houston Friday afternoon.
According to police, the trio stopped a woman who was driving and told her something was wrong with her car. They reportedly did phony work on her vehicle, for which she paid them around $280.
Police say when she told them she didn't have any more cash, they insisted she go to the bank and withdraw more.
Once inside, we're told a quick-thinking teller who knew something was wrong contacted police, who were able to quickly arrive and arrest the two women and one man.
