Toddler drowns in pond in Brazoria County

HOLIDAY LAKES, TX (KTRK) -- The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a toddler in the water Wednesday morning.

Officers say the 1-year-old boy had wandered away after his mother fell asleep and fell into a pond behind his home.

That child was taken to a hospital after officers pulled him from the pond. He was later pronounced dead.
