An Amber Alert has been issued after 3 kids were reportedly taken by their mom, who investigators say is known to have a drug problem

NEEDVILLE, TX (KTRK) -- An Amber Alert has been canceled after three children were reportedly taken by their mother, who investigators say is known to have a drug problem.

Authorities say they safely located Zoey Crouse, 6, Jacklyn Crouse, 4, and Damion Crouse, 8, early Wednesday morning. Two of the children were found hiding with their mother on a property and the third child was with their grandmother, according to Needville police.

All three of the children are now in CPS custody. No criminal charges have been filed in this case.

The Amber Alert was issued Tuesday evening. According to investigators, CPS had notified the Needville Police Department that a judge directed them to pick up three children. They were to be taken away from their mother, who they say is known to have drug problems.

The mother, Erica Lynn Barkdoll, 25, reportedly learned of the decision and took off with the children. Needville police say she called authorities Tuesday night and claimed she doesn't have the children, but investigators didn't buying it.
