Thieves leave behind huge mess
A beauty store owner has major damage to clean after thieves smash and grab items from the business

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Thieves were after hair weaves during a smash-and-grab at a business in southwest Houston overnight.

It happened at the Beauty Sensations store off Beechnut near Beltway 8.

It's a heartbreaking sight for Kevin Kim and his parents, who own the business. Kevin got a call from his alarm company at 2:30am.

"At first, I thought it was the pressure washer turning it on," he said "But then I saw the camera and we saw this broken, shattered glass coming over here, and yeah, we were speechless."

The Kims have had this beauty store for six years. They've always had surveillance cameras, but never have they captured a vehicle barrel into their business.

After the vehicle created the hole, investigators say four to six people and in and pulled off the heist in under two minutes. Within that time, they managed to grab a large quantity of high quality human hair extensions.

Hair weaves are expensive. Some brands can cost as much as $200 per package. They can be sold on the black market for as little as $25.
