Thieves smash into convenience store, leave ATM behind

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Thieves smashed their way into a northwest Houston convenience store earlier this morning.

Houston Police responded to an alarm at the Stop and Buy store near Guywood and W. Gulf Bank around 4:00am.

The intruders destroyed most of the store. It's unclear what the crooks were after as they left the ATM behind.

The business was closed at the time of the break-in. No one was injured.

Witnesses say they saw a blue Chevy pick-up truck fleeing the scene. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
