AUSTIN, TX -- A Central Texas man must serve 20 years in prison for trying to abduct two sisters as they walked to their elementary school.

Justin Michael Johnson was sentenced Friday in Austin. The 26-year-old Pflugerville man was earlier convicted of two counts of attempted aggravated kidnapping in the 2013 incident.

Investigators say the girls, ages 8 and 10, were approached by Johnson as they walked on a trail near Murchison Elementary School in Pflugerville.

Authorities say Johnson touched one of the girls on the shoulder and said he needed a favor. The girls said they had to go to school and tried to get away, but Johnson grabbed the older child. She broke free and both children ran to the school for help.

Johnson was later located and arrested.
