HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are looking for a group of teenage males who tried to smash their way into a convenience store.
It happened around 3:00am at a Valero gas station in the 4400 block of Airline in north Houston.
The clerk, who was inside at the time, says the group of 5 or 6 teens used a stolen Dodge pickup truck to smash into the building four times. The impact caused the roof of the building to collapse, but the teens did not get inside the store.
The clerk believes the would-be robbers were after the store's ATM.
The teens eventually decided to leave the truck behind and took off in a Dodge Charger which was waiting nearby. Police are now looking for them and believe they may be behind other smash and grab robberies in the area.
