TEENAGERS LURING MONTROSE RESIDENTS INTO ROBBERY SCAM
Authorities say a woman pretending to be a rape victim is setting unsuspecting victims up to be robbed by a male associate.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Imagine walking home and as you get to your driveway. A young woman in pajamas approaches you, asking for help and saying she'd just been raped.

As soon as you pull out your phone to help, you suddenly become the victim.

"While our victims are getting their phones out to dial 911 the male suspect comes out and holds them at gunpoint," Constable Alan Rosen explains, "taking anything of value wallets purses jewelry anything that they can."

That's exactly what has happened in at least four cases in the Montrose area along Westheimer. Harris County Constable Precinct 1 and HPD are working these cases, looking for two suspects -- a female and a male -- both believed to be just teenagers.

Surveillance cameras from one neighbor caught them just days ago as they left the scene of a crime. Their vehicle is either a 2014 or 2015 yellow Chevrolet Camaro with a bold back stripe down the middle.

"This is going to get people to be more apprehensive to help, and it's sad because when you truly need help, you want help," Rosen adds.
